His starring role in Michel Hazanavicius' silent movie The Artist, playing actor George Valentin, received widespread acclaim.[1] The role won him numerous awards, including the Academy Award, the Golden Globe, the BAFTA, the Screen Actors Guild and the Cannes Film Festival Best Actor.
